About the company

'City branchings' was founded in summer 2009.
After many years of living, working and studying in Australia, Sweden and Norway I returned to Germany and decided to continue with my consultancy business that I had started in Australia in 1999 ('Treedimensional') in Arboriculture and Urban Horticulture.
In 2006 I added a further academic qualification to my professional career in completing an international Master degree in 'Urban Forestry and Urban Greening' in Sweden.
Many years of international work in arboriculture, urban forestry, open space management, urban horticulture and urban greening together with my internatonal education provide me with a wide variety of broadly based knowledge and experience.

Company philosophy

My primary aim is to provide qualified and professional consultancy and strategic planning concepts, as well as coordination and cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and provide sustainable solutions for urban people AND nature.

Profession = Passion!

I believe in my work, and that we need to re-create a relationship between urban people and nature -
urban nature!

Sustainability is the capacity to endure. In ecology the word describes how biological systems remain diverse and productive over time. For humans it is the potential for long-term maintenance of wellbeing, which in turn depends on the wellbeing of the natural world and the responsible use of natural resources (Wikipedia)

Being an optimistic and responsible person, I find communication and cooperation with all stakeholders involved extremely important, concerning all matters of live.

Determination and perseverance as well as good organisation are part of my character.

Professional challenges give me great pleasure, and I appreciate potential personal chances working in a team as well as working on projects by myself.

As I have lived and worked in different countries over the years, I have obtained life experience to handle situations with different stakeholders and determine common goals to achieve the most effective solution.

This provides the basic requirement for cooperative, effective colaboration of practitioners, authorities, academics, and the general public in order to bring together their multifaceted knowledge and, therefore, to assure the highest professional standard.

Long years of international work experience as well as networking with collegues in many countries of the world allow me to achieve these objectives.

Continuing education is one of my major personal aims, not only in the professional field but also in areas that 'cross over' with Urban Forestry, such as construction engineering, biomechanics, and other related sectors.

This allows me to obtain a multilateral view on issues related to Urban Forestry and Urban Greening.

My Urban Forest dog from Australia, with special training from Sweden and work experience from Australia, Sweden, Norway and Germany is a long-serving staff member of Citybranchings. Here you can see how the dog investigates a fungal fruiting body underneath a tree.
